It is PIAOTT's mission to Put It All On The Table
We supply the guidance and tools aspiring authors need while telling their story to the world.

“Let us get on common ground by choosing common courtesy and developing some common knowledge about our common practices. Then, we can enforce common laws for the common good with a common cause, a common goal, and a common theme, therefore, binding our common thread to solve the common problem.”     ~Felicia Benton

We are all fingers of THE SAME HAND

Using your imagination. Look at your hand. Do you think the thumb hate the middle finger because it is longer? Do you think your pointer finger cares more about the color of your index finger than its function? Imagine the difficulties that you would face if one or all of your fingers were gone. Or, ask someone who does not have fingers.

No matter how much we try to deny, oppose, avoid, fight or ignore it. THE FACT IS, WORKING TOGETHER has become detrimental to our survival.. it doesn't matter who you are.

Our Thoughts About Racism!

Regardless of race, color, creed, age, sexual preference, financial status, choice of music, belief system (religious) or style of healthcare, we all have to live on this earth and breathe its air. Racism a product of the capitalism that grew from the use of slaves for the plantations of the New World. Today we use racism in order to create racial stereotypes on the basis of race, color, nationality, religion and other factors. It is 2017 and we are still judging people according to the color of their skin.

What are the symptoms of the disease called Racism?

  • Xenophobia: intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries
  • A need to socially, politically, and economically dominate other groups.
  • A feeling that basic human rights for minority groups are "special rights."
  • Historic patterns of prejudice, discrimination, colonialism, historic hostilities, and the slave trade.
  • Ignorance of other cultures, religions, and values.
  • Fear of sharing power with other groups of people.
  • Isolationist and protectionist foreign policies.
  • Laws and government policies aimed at preventing immigration of people of different cultures and religions.

Personal Message To Police

PLEASE UNDERSTAND! This is not to bash police officers or to criticize the law or those who practice law. Police brutality affects us all regardless of race and it can happen to anyone. PIAOTT only wants solutions and unity because the people are afraid of you.

A Letter to an Officer

Taken from the book Ask Yourself: Getting Back to Being Your Brother's Keeper
Written by Felicia Benton. Feel free to download a full copy of this letter and share.
Dear, Mr. Policeman: You said that you are here to protect and serve. I do not feel very safe. Please do not be mad at me Mr. Policeman, but at this point you scare me more than the criminals. At least with the criminals there are ways that I can defend myself. I cannot say that I can do the same with you. I would have never thought that I would have to. When you stop me, I am not confident that you will be fair, unbiased and follow all of the rules… Maybe…if I am a certain color or gender......

"On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character, or the public trust.  I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions. I will always uphold the constitution my community and the agency I serve." Taken from the International Association of Chiefs of Police website.  http://www.iacp.org/What-is-the-Law-Enforcement-Oath-of-Honor

Before any officer takes the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor, it is important that he/she understands what it means. An oath is a solemn pledge someone makes when he/she sincerely intends to do what he/she says.
  • Honor means that one's word is given as a guarantee.
  • Betray is defined as breaking faith with the public trust.
  • Badge is the symbol of your office.
  • Integrity is being the same person in both private and public life.
  • Character means the qualities that distinguish an individual.
  • Public trust is a charge of duty imposed in faith toward those you serve.
  • Courage is having the strength to withstand unethical pressure, fear or danger.
  • Accountability means that you are answerable and responsible to your oath of office.
  • Community is the jurisdiction and citizens served.

The Owner

Picture
Like so many of us, Felicia experienced many ups and downs in life, one being, violently losing her father at the age of 7. Growing up in Chicago was tough, but her mother taught about being humble, admitting to her faults and expressing her true feelings. Paying attention to her karma (how she treated people), being careful of the words she spoke, and being open minded to various nationalities of people, genres of art, music and books, taught her how to manage her ways of thinking in various aspects. Through personal, she found that her own actions and interactions with people could change an entire situation from negative to positive.

Ask Yourself: Getting Back to Being Your Brother’s Keeper is an appeal to readers regardless of age, race, gender, belief system, or hierarchy within society to be truly responsible for their actions. This book is designed so that a goal of self-enlightenment and getting back to being a keeper of your fellow man is one that can be accomplished.  The reader begins to think of not just the act, but the consequences of your actions and the chain of reactions (be it positive or negative) that flows from and to you.
